Is College Worth It?

For the average student, college is becoming more challenging to achieve. Is College Worth It? That is the question more and more of us are asking. Many are creating tremendous debt to obtain a degree that barely pays the bills. Maybe there is a better solution.

When I graduated from High School, a lot of the guys in my class were joining the military in the branch of their choice, since the Draft was in place, or going into a trade of their choice. At that time, we still had trade school classes in High School. College was just not an option for many of us. The girls were getting jobs as clerks or secretaries, and many were joining the phone company. Marriage was also an option. A few of our classmates went directly to college, but most went to a Junior College first to save on expenses. College loans weren’t available at the time, and I personally don’t think everyone is cut out for college.

Costs are increasing, while after-school success is decreasing.

“Colleges barely teach, yet every year they increase their fees. Try that in a private business, you might get indicted for fraud. Do it at an American university, and you get billions in taxpayer subsidies.” — Tucker Carlson Tonight

Hiring Outlook for College Graduates Worst in 5 Years, US Employers Say

The U.S. labor market may not be in great shape for college graduates when they receive their diplomas in the spring, according to a new National Association of Colleges and Employers report.

Is College Worth It

Let’s take a look at documented statistics: 45 percent of students didn’t demonstrate significant learning gains in their Freshman and Sophomore years. Nearly 40 percent didn’t do much better in their final 2 years. THESE ARE FACTS.

Approximately 35 percent of College Students report studying less than 5 hours a week.

The other 65 percent average 2.67 hours a day studying. Almost twice that time is spent partying, eating, or shopping.

Unfortunately, this is accompanied by the fact that Adult Illiteracy is increasing. Many college grads fall below average in Cognitive Tasks. (Such as calculating the costs of food in a Grocery Store).

High school graduates in many countries score higher than U.S. college graduates. This tells us that Academic accomplishment in many top U.S. universities is declining/

GRA is over 3.0 on average, while College classes get easier. Many students are not learning anything, yet nobody fails.

Top College grads get decent jobs; the rest just get debt, taking years to repay.
